This is a simple, to the point post where I will share 10 simple tips which will make your thesis theme stand out. And for these simple tweaks, you don’t even have to edit your custom css too!
1 Remove post published date in Thesis Theme
You can remove the published date from your thesis theme which will make your posts timeless. Most people ignore great resources just because they are written few years ago; go to Thesis Options > Display Options > bylines > and uncheck Show published-on date in post byline -that’s it!
2 Remove comments on pages + remove “Comments on this entry are closed” text
Even if you remove your comments from the wordpress menu, it will show this annoying message: “Comments on this entry are closed” -so to remove it, uncheck: Disable comments on all pages from the Thesis Options > Comments.
3 Remove “WordPress Admin” link from footer
From Thesis Options, go to Administration and uncheck: Show admin link in footer
4 Edit page names to appear on the navigation menu
If you have really long titles for your page, then it won’t look nice on the navigation manu and will leave less room for other pages. So go to Select pages to include in nav menu where you supposed to check which pages to appear on the menu and click on each menu title to rename it. PS: it won’t change the title of your page, will just change the text on the thesis navigation menu.
5 Remove the interior layout borders of Thesis Theme
With thesis 1.6 you can do it very easily; just go to Design Options > Body (and Content Area) and uncheck: Show interior layout borders
6 Remove the border of Thesis Navigation menu
Some people will find it harder to remove the borders from their navigation menu, here it is: Go to Nav Manu from Design Options and set “0″ (zero) as nav border width (px) which will make the border disappear.
7 Remove the “Multimedia Box” rotating images from thesis sidebar
After you have a new thesis theme install, you have these random images on your sidebar top. Remove these by, Design Options > Multimedia Box > select Do not show box.
8 Create a page with no sidebars on Thesis Theme
This is very simple, just create/ edit a new page and from the right hand side, select Attributes > Template > No Sidebars. Publish!
9 Remove Thesis Theme Attribution from Footer
If you have bought a developers edition, then you have the rights to remove the thesis theme attribution. Install Thesis Open Hook plugin and browse the hooks. Now go to thesis_hook_footer and check Remove Thesis attribution -this will remove the thesis theme credits from your site.
10 Remove the Tagline from the header area
You can remove the tagline which appears underneath your header. Go to Thesis Options > Display Options > Header > uncheck Show site tagline in header
